Spacewalk provides stellar view of Amazon rain forest 200 miles above

As astronauts Parazynski and Wheelock launched the first EVA or spacewalk of the STS-120 mission, they were perfectly positioned to see the Amazon rain forest above Andes of central Chile.

“You’re not going to believe this,” Parazynski, making his fourth spacewalk, told Wheelock. A few minutes later, passing over the Amazon rain forest, Wheelock marveled, “What a gorgeous view. Wow.”
