After a long shuttle mission that began on October 23rd, seven astronauts return to earth today after completing an important mission that resulted in much of the flight plan being re-organized due to having to repair a solar array panel. Astronaut Clay Anderson is among the seven returning who has not been home in nearly five months, having spent that time on the International Space Station. “As Discovery’s astronauts successfully wrap up mission STS-120, they leave behind on the International Space Station astronaut Dan Tani, who joined the Expedition 16 crew after changing places with Clay Anderson. Anderson is returning to Earth aboard Discovery after five months on the station. He launched with the STS-117 crew on space shuttle Atlantis in June.”
